Job Title: Fund Accountant
Location (fully in-person): New York, NY / Stamford, CT

Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000 base salary + discretionary bonus
Description:
We're working with a well-established and rapidly growing hedge fund that focuses on various global investment opportunities in equity markets, liquid commodity, fixed income, foreign exchange, and so on. They have increased their headcount by about 25% in the past few months and they're looking to go even further by adding a Fund Accountant to their finance team. The Fund Accountant will report to the Controller and take charge of financial reporting, audit, tax, operations, compliance, and risk.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure fund compliance with relevant laws / regulations and prepare data for regulatory / tax filings
* Calculate and monitor the expense allocation for the funds, and review expense accruals
* Conduct ad hoc strategic analysis with the business team
* Generate weekly and monthly performance reports
* Oversee collateral / cash management
* Compile financial data for external parties, including investors and trading partners
* Manage the month-end closing process and oversee annual audit and tax procedures
* Coordinate and communicate with external auditors and tax consultants
* Work with external accountants on tax and audit matters for the funds
Qualifications:
* Experience as a Fund Accountant at a hedge fund / private equity firm OR at a fund administrator
* Experience in either foreign exchange, commodities products, fixed income, or equity space
* Experience in tax reporting / tax planning and/or trading / compliance operations
