Position Title: Development and Finance Manager
Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Development and Finance Manager to support our mission-driven organization by leading our financial operations and development efforts. This position is ideal for a dedicated professional passionate about nonprofit financial management and fundraising, who thrives on working independently, juggling multiple projects, and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Development
Design and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to attract funding from a wide range of sources, including individual donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
Foster and manage donor relationships by overseeing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities to maintain a positive donor experience.
Coordinate and execute impactful fundraising events and campaigns that align with the organization's mission and strategic goals.
Prepare persuasive grant proposals and manage all aspects of grant reporting.
Maintain accurate records of donations, pledges, and donor communications within a donor management system.
Finance
Oversee daily financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and reporting, to support the organization's fiscal health.
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting standards.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and banking activities to ensure smooth financial operations.
Contribute to annual budget preparation and monitor budget adherence throughout the fiscal year.
Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and implement any recommendations provided.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
4-6 years of experience in nonprofit financial management and fundraising.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
Proficiency in financial and donor management software.
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Compensation
Full-Time (Boston, MA): $65,000 - $85,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
Part-Time (Remote Eligible): $25 - $35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Work Culture
Part-Time: Flexible hours within the official workday, typically 20-25 hours per week, with remote options available.
Full-Time: Onsite in Boston with standard working hours.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary for fundraising events.
